She is an experienced manager with a demonstrated history of working in the Internet Industry.

 

Strong media and communication professional, skilled in International Relations, Strategic Planning, Program and project management, and social media.

 

More than 20 years of experience in the Internet Industry and Computer Technology.

Having held technical and commercial positions in companies such as Netgate, PSI Net, and AT&T, she has vast experience in Software, e-commerce, Digital Marketing, Telecommunications, Digital education, and the Internet of Things. 

 

Since 2009 she has been the Senior Director of Intersys Uruguay, a company that specializes in providing services related to domain registrations in Uruguay, Latin America, the United States, and Europe.

 

Currently in charge of Portfolio Management of local and foreign client domain names, working with well-known local and international companies.

 

In October 2018, Laura was elected by ICANN NomCom as ccNSO Councillor and is currently an ALAC Member for LAC Region, involved in several working groups and committees.

  

Member of the women's DNS Women Community of ICANN, IT Women of LACNIC, and Recently elected as President of the Internet Society Uruguayan´s Chapter (ISOC Uruguay). 

Member of the Selection Committee of Beyond the Net Program from Internet Society.

Participates in ICANN meetings, Internet Governance Forums, and local, regional, and global conferences related to the Internet Domains and Technology industry. Manages a global multilingual bulletin of Internet Governance news in 4 different languages.

 

Laura is actively involved in initiatives focused on Internet Governance in her country. She has been a member of the local IGF Organizing Committee since it was created and had experience working within the Multistakeholder model.
